Fairy Pentacle Small Wood Finish Plaque byPaul Borda Celtic & Mythological Art
This pentacle design sprang from an event that occurred during a consecration ritual. Each invoked element took form slowly, swirling, swimming, and spinning around the altar paten. Each group of elementals greeted the newest with tenderness, appreciation, mischief, and joy. Like loving brothers and sisters, they danced the dance of creation and became distinct in these forms. The sprite represents Air, the dragon Fire, the mermaid Water, and the satyr Earth. Needless to say the magic was quite successful. I was enthralled and honored to witness this beautiful event, which happens perhaps all the time.
Measures 5 3/4 x 5 5/16 x 3/4 inches. Lovely sculpture by artist Paul Borda is cast in resin and hand finished in a wood finish.

| Cast Resin | Resin is a polymer which can be used for making molds as well as cast in molds. Cold-cast resin is generally for sculpture and means that the resin material is cast without the need for the extreme heat of a foundry. It holds very sharp detail when cast. Most of the major lines of figurines on the market today are made of cold cast resin. It is fragile if dropped and fractures similar to glass, usually in clean pieces which can be glued using a household super glue. |
