Danu Celtic Goddess Resin 16 Inch Statue by Maxine Miller Celtic Art
Danu is thought to be the great mother of the race of the Tuatha De Danaan, the ancient tribe of the Celtic people. She is the great goddess of flowing rivers and the life force that they bring to the earth.
Danu is associated with agriculture, cultivation, and the nurturing of the land. She represents the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, as demonstrated by the plants of the natural world, just as the humble acorn buried in the ground becomes the mighty sacred oak tree.
16 inches high museum-grade resin statue by artist Maxine Miller with a patina green finish.

Maxine Miller Celtic Art

Maxine Miller has devoted many years of her artistic life to honoring and illuminating the Celtic and Pagan traditions for people of today. Her work is rich with exquisite detail and symbolism.
Inspiration springs from the works of Erté, Beardsley and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Victorian and Art Deco influence is combined with ancient Celtic/Pagan legend. The results are Maxine’s own unique amalgam of story and art. While she works primarily in pen/ink & watercolor, Maxine also creates sterling silver jewelry, clothing, sculptured wall plaques and detailed statuary.
Born in Los Angeles, Maxine Miller resided post high school in the dingy
decadence of punk rock Hollywood, where she found beauty in the
crumbling old structures and the underground club scene. Nowadays,
Maxine is a happy resident of Portland, Oregon where she finds
inspiration in the abundant natural beauty of its landscape as well as
the creative atmosphere of its people.

Cast Resin | Resin is a polymer which can be used for making molds as well as cast in molds. Cold-cast resin is generally for sculpture and means that the resin material is cast without the need for the extreme heat of a foundry. It holds very sharp detail when cast. Most of the major lines of figurines on the market today are made of cold cast resin. It is fragile if dropped and fractures similar to glass, usually in clean pieces which can be glued using a household super glue. |
